“A contemporary piece like the wave table requires a great deal of attention to detail, simplicity is in many ways the key to success”
The Wave table makes a striking centerpiece to any living space. Its parallel lines and sculpted curves seem to effortlessly support the generous glass top.
I specially selected Maple timber for this piece for its unusual balance of strength and mellow feel. The unassuming light colours of the timber add a depth and simplicity to the form that would be lost with a more vibrant timber. The timber also takes the bending process comfortably in its stride.
The main body of the structure is made up of sixteen individual Maple curves, each curve separated with four stainless steel spacers. I am really pleased with the airiness this spaced construction gives to the design. Clean Stainless Steel fittings also compliment this theme.
A contemporary piece like the wave table requires a great deal of attention to detail, simplicity is in many ways the key to success. I believe the design fits the bill perfectly, a certainty I need to have when I brand a piece with my makers mark.
